Singer’s First Porsche 911 Targa

At the Goodwood Festival of Speed 2015 in the UK last weekend, the wraps were taken off the Singer Porsche 911 Targa. Singer, an American tuner specialising in the Porsche 911, is known around the world for its incredibly classy creations and the following car marks the first time they’ve worked on a 911 Targa.
As with most 911s that Singer works on, the car in question is a 964-generation model. However, the 964’s standard 3.6-litre flat-six engine has been ditched and replaced with a 3.8-litre flat-six tuned by Cosworth. That engine delivers an impressive 345 hp. If that’s not enough, Singer’s customers can opt for a larger 4.0-litre flat-six pumping out 385 hp.

These engines are then mated to either a five-speed or six-speed manual transmission and each car Singer works on takes about 10 months to create. For the 911 Targa in question, it was absolutely no different with the firm ensuring the classic sports car is as glamorous as a car can be.
For example, an entirely new body has been installed has have Fuchs-inspired five-spoke wheels. Gold badges also adorn the car as do brushed aluminium components for the roof mechanism. Inside, glamorous orange leather is found throughout alongside other orange trim.
Each vehicle Singer creates is entirely bespoke with customers having free reign over their cars.
